Stage 3 of the Dakar Rally brought big changes as Mattias Ekström climbed to third overall in the Ultimate class, leading Ford M-Sport after Carlos Sainz's retirement. Nasser Al-Attiyah remains second, with Henk Lategan still in the lead.
