The valley connecting the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano and Lake Natron in Tanzania, on March 6, 2024. The salt-encrusted shore encircles a sea dotted with pink flamingos, while Ol Doinyo Lengai rising up nearby. Known by the Maasai as “the Mountain of God,” this active volcano is part of the East African Rift and produces a sodium and potassium rich lava that is silver in color. Nearby rest the oldest tracks left by Homo sapiens Ãł 120,000 years old Ãł which tell the story of a long and unbroken human presence in this place.
