Eyevine Keystone USA December 2010
Nov 01, 1940 - London, UK, ENGLAND - Salvaging the contents of a home wrecked in the 11-hour raid on Birmingham on the night of 22nd November 1940. Birmingham, as a major manufacturing centre, was an obvious target. Transport and telephone systems were badly affected but it was damage to the water system which caused the most urgent problem - firefighters had to rely on pumping water from the canals or leave some fires to burn themselves out.
