(FILES) This file handout photograph taken and released by Ukrainian Presidential Press Service on November 3, 2023, shows Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny (2nd L) visiting a training center to mark the "Missile Forces and Artillery and the Engineering Troops" Day at an undisclosed location in Ukraine, amid the Russian invasion. The sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in 2022 was approved by senior officials in Kyiv, a report said on August 15, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky initially giving his support. Speculation has long swirled about who was behind the operation, with both Ukraine and Russia denying any involvement. The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine's top military commander at the time, Valery Zaluzhny, oversaw the plan to blow up the pipelines used by Russia to deliver gas to Europe.
