After hundreds of years, these works of the Khmers of Cambodia remain in fairly good state of preservation, shown June 16, 1950. The Khmers faded away leaving no record of the reasons leading up to their demise, although it is believed that the Burmese eliminated the rulers in a surprise attack, killed the ruling class and made the peasants slaves, wiping out the Khmers.
