General Bor-Komorowski, commander-in-chief of the Polish Home Army, is driven from the German headquarters in Warsaw in early October 1944, after negotiating the Polish Home Army'?s surrender to the Germans following the Warsaw Uprising. The general, in civilian clothes, is accompanied by an unidentified officer. The Poles surrendered on Oct. 2 after a two-month struggle. This photo was distributed by Buro Laux, a German Foreign Ministry conduit for photos, and transmitted to The Associated Press via the photo agency Pressens Bild in neutral Sweden.
