TOPSHOT - Warren Parsons, 54, DJs a music set including lighting, glitter ball and smoke machine broadcast from his kitchen in Hartley Wintney, a village 45 miles southwest of London late on May 23, 2020 during the nationwide lockdown due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. - Parsons streamed music and live video feed using MixCloud, an online music streaming service. "For me the greatest challenge of lockdown has been the lack of social interaction outside of my immediate family. I was interested in using my amateur DJing as a way of connecting with others and hopefully brightening their lives wherever they may be.??The challenge was technically, how to live stream using my existing DJ and IT equipment. Several hours of YouTube later and we were up and running and I felt a great sense of achievement having cracked it.?That feeling, however, was short lived and replaced with one of horror with the realisation that I was going to be playing to a camera and an empty [kitchen] dance floor! I needn't of worried as it wasn't long before there were plenty of messages of support, stories of friends dancing around their houses and even some song requests. ?It felt really great to have provided a little light relief in these difficult times." he said.
