A replica of the legendary ???Iron Throne??? from HBO's hit series Game of Thrones is going to auction. At the Epic Fan Experience held in New York in 2014, Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin and members of the cast presented the replica to the winner of a contest. Now, the throne will be placed for sale by auctioneers Profiles in History. The auction will also include a painting of the series??? main characters by renowned artist and illustrator, Sanjuli?An, commissioned for the 2013 SXSW Game of Thrones exhibition. Profiles in History???s previous famous artifacts include the Marilyn Monroe???s subway dress from the Seven Year Itch that eventually sold for US$5.52 million, the ???Cowardly Lion??? costume from The Wizard of Oz for US$805,000.
