One of 247 former Haitian boat people who will become part of an interim police force in Port-au-Prince were returned to Haiti by the U.S. Coast Guard, Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994. The group returning received three weeks of basic training in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and will receive an additional week in training near Port-au-Prince. Of the 4,000 that will make up the interim police force in Haiti, 972 will be boat people who were chosen while being held at Guantanamo Bay. (AP Photo/John McConnico)
