When President Franklin D. Roosevelt passed through Worcester, Mass., June 1, 1934, on his way to see his son graduate at Groton School in Groton he was greeted by Catherine Murphy, 9, of Worcester. A victim of infantile paralysis, Catherine was sent to Warm Springs, Ga., for treatment through the instrumentality of Pres. Roosevelt. She told him she was greatly improved. (AP Photo)
