Jose Escobar, former police chief at La Paz, Bolivia, hangs from a Lamppost in the City Plaza, La Paz, Sept. 27, after being taken from a jail where he was awaiting trial on charges of criminality. Escobar was police chief under President Gualberto Villaroel, who was deposed and hanged last summer. The lynching was one of three perpetrated by an angry mob in the first big out break of violence in the Bolivian Capital since the July 21 revolution. (AP Photo)
