Russian peasants gathered in Moscow from Alphonse Mucha took dozens of photos of Russia in 1913 to prepare a tableau for his famous Slav Epic series. Although many of the photographs have been lost, those that survive are important because they provide a record of life in Tsarist Russia a mere four years before the revolution changed the course of Russian History.
