AP Historical Hard Drive 2007
Federal soldiers behind the embankments of their trenches at Naco, Sonora, successfully withstand a three- hour attack by Rebel tanks cavalry and infantry in Sonora, April 9, 1929. The dust on the outside of the trenches was caused by rebel bullets. A Federal machine gun pit is shown at the left in front of the main trench spurting forth a stream of lead into the rebel Lines. This is the first actual battle scene to reach the United States. (AP Photo)
