The Salt River rushes over the Tempe Town Lake Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 in Tempe, Ariz. The normally dry Salt River was flooded by the release of water from Granite Reef Dam north of Mesa, Ariz. in an effort to to relieve storm swollen Bartlett and Horseshoe Lakes.
