Sir Malcolm Campbell, world famous racing driver and strong advocate of a government plan of anti-gas raid precautions, has literally put his convictions into concrete. On his estate at Hookwood, near here, he has built a super concrete dug-out for the use of his family and the families of his employees in the event of an air or gas raid. A view of the "Nerve Center" of the concrete dug-out, where the electricity generator and ventilation plant are situated shown Dec. 23, 1936. (AP Photo)
