Stigma and struggles: stories of refugees and locals who live and cope with disabilities in Kakuma refugee camp in northern Kenya. Patience Nyajany, 17, completes school work at her school in Kakuma Camp, Kenya, on Monday 16 July 2018. Patience and her mother came to Kukuma from Uganda after her father died and left them destitute. As a young child she contracted a sickness that left her without the use of her legs. She has since been supported by Humanity and Inclusion with an operation and physiotherapy. They have also provided her with school materials and uniform, and introduced her to peer support groups. The UK government, in partnership with the Kenyan government are hosting a one day summit to address disability in developing countries as part of the UK's commitment to inclusion around disability. ?
