George Weissman, long an executive at Philip Morris, became chairman of the Lincoln Center in 1986, serving until 1994. Weissman, who helped transform Philip Morris from a midlevel tobacco company to a diversified conglomerate known for contributions to the arts, and who then led Lincoln Center for nearly a decade, died on July 24 in Greenwich, Conn.
