Latafiya, Iraq May 19, 2007 Alpha Co. 2-15, Task force 2-15, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division DO NOT USE PHOTO UNTIL CLEARANCES HAVE BEEN OBTAINED Soldiers cover a wounded comrade on a stretcher to keep debris off of him that is being kicked up by a medevac chopper landing nearby. Standing at left in t-shirt is another wounded soldier being supported by comrades. Scenes from a combat patrol today that ended in tragedy today when one US soldier was killed and four wounded (3 US, one I.A.) when the KIA either stepped on a pressure activated land mine or was killed by a command detonated IED buried along a dirt road where the patrol was walking. The soldiers were taking part in the search for the three US soldiers captured several days ago. The patrol continued with several other groups of US and Iraqi soldiers and another US soldier was shot in the forehead by an Iraqi sniper and critically injured at another location during the search.
