(NYT61) ATLANTA, Ga. -- Jan. 30, 2007 -- AIDS-QUILT -- Roddy Williams, director of operations for the Names Project Foundation, goes through panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt at the foundation's warehouse in Atlanta, Ga., on Jan. 19, 2007. The largest piece of community folk art in history, the 54-ton collage affixed with the names of 91,000 victims of AIDS is a tapestry of grief that was one of the earliest and most effective tools in raising awareness of the disease.
