(NYT29) AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Jan. 27, 2007 -- JAMES-BROWN-BURIAL-3 -- The grave marker of Adrienne Lois Brown, the wife of the late singer James Brown, pictured at the Walker Cemetery in Augusta, Ga., Friday, Jan. 26, 2007. James Brown died at 73 on Christmas Day in Atlanta. More than a month after the death of the legendary soul singer, his body still has not been laid to rest, a circumstance that has dismayed his friends and bewildered residents in Augusta, the town that has honored him as a native son.
