(NYT81) NEW YORK -- Oct. 26, 2005 -- OBIT-HAUPT -- Enid A. Haupt in 1992 in the conservatory named for her at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. Haupt, whose philanthropy benefited libraries, museums and hospitals but who devoted much of her considerable fortune to creating public gardens and preserving horticultural institutions, died on Tuesday at her home in Greenwich, Conn.
