(NYT27) NEW YORK -- Oct. 16, 2005 -- MAGAZINE -- Norman Pearlstine, left, has for four years been grooming John Huey, Time Inc.'s editorial director, to succeed him as editor in chief. The executives in the Time-Life Building in New York on Wedensday, Oct. 12, 2005. Time Inc., a division of Time Warner, the world's largest media company, is to announce today that Huey, 57, will succeed Pearlstine, 63, on Jan. 1. This makes Huey the sixth editor-in- chief of the storied magazine empire since Henry R.
