(NYT23) EAST HAMPTON, NY -- January 25, 2005 -- DRUG-DISTRIBUTION-2 -- Stewart Rahr paid $45 million this month for this East Hampton estate, seen on Jan. 9, 2005. It is the most expensive house ever purchased in New York State. In recent years, distributors like Rahr have stockpiled drugs before expected price increases and then made quick profits by selling at a higher price. Drug companies are now working to limit this practice. (Doug Kuntz/The New York Times)
