(NYT6) DANBURY, Conn. -- Feb. 27, 2005 -- CARS-RACECARS-COLLECT-3 -- The Ferrari 330 P3/4's interior and engine bay offer few concessions to everyday driving. The Ferrari is stored in Jim Glickenhaus' garage in Danbury, Conn., in October. Among the most valuable collector cars are racing machines that claim a piece of motorsports history, including Ford GT40s that became legends at Le Mans in the 1960s, or the very first Ferraris. Glickenhaus, a former investment banker, has a garage full of these racetrack icons, and like some of his fellow collectors he actually drives them on the street -- with state registration papers, license plates, annual safety inspections and all.
