(NYT57) NEW YORK -- Jan. 26, 2005 -- ANTIQUE-GLASS-REPAIR-4 -- The recreated glass shade cover of Ted Foscolo's 19th-century glass chandelier, pictured in the home of Laura and Ted Fuscolo, in Wainscott, Long Island, in Jan. 2005. Foscolo was devastated when movers accidentally dropped a 19th-century glass chandelier he had bought for $16,000, destroying the fixture's blown glass shade with its engraved starburst pattern. The shade cover was recreated by Michael Davis, a glass artist in Long Island City, N.Y., who specializes in conjuring replicas of antique glass. (Laurie Lambrecht/The New York Times)
