In a speech Wednesday to thousands of enthusiastic Slovaks in Bratislava's main Hviezdoslavovo Square, Bush compared Washington's goals in Iraq to Slovakia's peaceful toppling of Communism in 1989 when it was then part of Czechoslovakia, from which it broke away in 1993.
