(NYT48) NEW YORK -- June 16, 2004 -- MAGS-PRODUCTS -- Emil Wilbekin, editorial director of "Vibe" magazine, shops for baseball caps at Jerseyman Cap USA on Harlem's 125th Street in June. Faced with falling circulation and revenues, many magazines are branching out to try to generate more revenue and increase their visibility. In addition to old standbys like tote bags and music compilations, they are coming out with things like clothing and comestibles. And the trend is accelerating. (Dean Cox/The New York Times)
