(NYT54) NEW YORK -- June 18, 2004 -- NY-HOMELESS-KILLING-3 -- A sign in front of St. Gabriel's Church in East New York, Brooklyn, June 18, 2004, listing times for the wake and funeral of William "Billy" Pearson, 51, a homeless man who was murdered early Wednesday morning. Pearson died in front of the church. On Thursday night, June 17, two neighborhood 15-year-olds, were charged with second-degree murder. Neither had any apparent criminal record, though Dashorn had behavioral problems, according to his family.
