(NYT42) LAUGHARNE, Wales -- May 10, 2004 -- WALES-DYLAN-THOMAS-2 -- To begin at the beginning. Or perhaps the end. It was in the Welsh village of Laugharne, beside what he called a Bible-black sea that the poet Dylan Thomas crafted and drafted many of his works before his death at 39 in 1953. Inside Thomas's writing shed which overlooks the River Taf estuary and the sea at Laugharne as seen on April 29, 2004. (Jonathan Player/The New York Times)
