(NYT36) BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Oct. 5, 2003 -- IRAQ-SMALL-BUSINESSES-2 -- Doing business in Iraq these days is not easy. But small businesses are sometimes bustling. The problems are obvious. Only a few banks are open in Baghdad, and the power fails with depressing regularity. Baghdad is mostly peaceful during the day, but roadside bombs and violent demonstrations can at any moment turn its streets into chaos. Numerous computer stores and cafes offering Internet access have sprung up along Senaa Street in Baghdad, as seen on Oct. 3, 2003. (Justin Lane/The New York Times)
