(NYT6) JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Oct. 3, 2003 --NY-AFRICANS-REBURIAL -- One of two hand-made caskets from Ghana, made for the African Burial Ground Memorial Project which were transported from Howard University in Washington, D.C. where they were studied, are carried to a ferry in Jersey City, N.J., Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 for transport to New York City. More than 400 caskets containing the remains of slaves will be re-burried after they were discovered a decade ago during building construction in Manhattan.
