(NYT43) LOS ANGELES -- September 24, 2003 -- IMMIG-BUSES-2 -- The Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride, in which 18 buses carrying hundreds of immigrants, are stopping in more than 100 cities to promote immigrants' rights. Inspired by the freedom rides of the 1960s in the South, the latter-day freedom ride aims to turn immigrants' rights into the nation's new civil rights movement.
