(NYT52) NEW YORK -- March 5, 2003 -- SHOE-COMPETE -- New Reebok products on display in a Manhattan store front, Feb. 28, 2003. Reebok, along with the other athletic shoe companies have trailed Nike for years. Sporting Goods Intelligence, a trade newsletter, estimated that, at the end of 2002, Nike had 39.1 percent of the nation's athletic shoe business; Reebok had 12; New Balance had 11.6; and Addidas had 9.6 percent. But analysts say Reebok has a good chance to at least double its share in the next few years. (Don Hogan Charles/The New York Times)
