(NYT93) NEW YORK -- September 17, 2003 -- WTC-NAME -- The name, "World Trade Center" is no longer simply a reference to the past. Instead, a series of decisions points to "World Trade Center" as the formal, future name of that acreage downtown. This matters because what New Yorkers call the place will shape how they think about it. Signs of the World Trade Center are still in evidence on Church St., below Vesey at the subway entrance in lower Manhattan on Wednesday, Sept 17, 2003. Ground Zero is visible across the street.
