(NYT34) BOSTON -- September 16, 2003 -- DALAI-LAMA -- On his fifteenth trip to the United States, the Dalai Lama has been met by sold-out crowds from coast to coast, and tickets to the his events were bid up on eBay. Scalpers did brisk business outside the basketball arena in Boston last Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, selling tickets to last-minute seekers. Tuesday, Sept 16, 2003 at a press conference with the Dali Lama at the Peter Lewis Theater in the Manhattan Guggenheim Museum, Richard Gere, center-right, stood on stage as the Dali Lama answered questions and Philip Glass, right, stared intently from his seat on stage.
