(NYT18) BURBANK, Calif. -- Sept. 14, 2003 -- NBC-ZUCKER -- Jeff Zucker, the president of NBC Entertainment, is at the start of his third and probably last fall season as the chief of NBC Entertainment; he is expected to be in line for a promotion should NBC and its corporate parent General Electric complete the deal to absorb the entertainment assets of Vivendi Universal. His detractors -- at competing networks, at some studios, inside some talent agencies -- say the time has come for him to put up or shut up. Zucker discussing the prospects of the new fall line up with studio executives in his Burbank, Calif. office on Sept.11, 2003. (Gerard Burkhart/The New York Times)
