(NYT209) NEW YORK -- Aug. 9, 2002 -- 9-11-WTC-9 --On the 85th floor of One World Trade Center, John Dubrow moved one of his canvases, which depicted the view from the tower, through the 35,000-square-foot space that he and other artists used as their studio, rent free, for nearly a year. In a project sponsored by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, who owned the towers, a group of painters were selected yearly to make art in vast swaths of five floors in the twin towers, the most astonishing being 35,000 square feet -- nearly an acre -- of the 85th floor of One World Trade Center.
