(NYT9) DENVER -- July 17, 2002 -- CIR-LAPTOPS-AIRPORTS -- A passenger at Denver International Airport waves to a well-wisher as she leaves the airport security checkpoint where a sign reminds travelers not to forget their laptops after leaving the security checkpoint. Tighter airport security in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks has travelers forgetting all kinds of personal articles at screening machines. But laptop computers have posed one of the biggest problems for lost-and-found departments, since travelers must now remove the machines from their cases before putting them through the X-ray machine. Sometimes travelers retrieve the bag without the laptop or grab a stranger's computer by mistake. (Kevin Moloney/The New York Times)
