(NYT10) WASHINGTON -- Feb. 14, 2003 -- TERROR-RIDGE -- Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge walks away from the poduim after a news conference at the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, Friday, Feb. 14, 2003. Ridge tried to calm a jittery nation, saying that there's no need to panic. People "do not need to start sealing doors and windows,'' adding that there has been no new intelligence over the last week to suggest an imminent threat.
