(NYT54) NEW YORK -- Feb. 11, 2003 -- TOY-SHOW -- When it opens on Sunday in Manhattan, the 100th American International Toy Fair, the nation's largest trade show for toys, will be the last of the traditional extravaganzas that have crammed a year's worth of hoopla and ballyhoo into a single show. The next time around the event -- one of New York City's most venerable and lucrative trade fairs -- will for the first time be split into separate annual shows: one for mass-market buyers and one for smaller specialty retailers. A wall mount for a hanging display is assembled in a Mattel showroom at 200 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003. (Don Hogan Charles/The New York Times)
