(NYT14) NEW YORK -- Jan. 7, 2003 -- GRAMMY-NOMINEES -- Popular music's immediate reaction to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, was echoed in the nominations for the 45th annual Grammy Awards. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced the nominations Tuesday at Madison Square Garden, where the awards will be presented on Feb. 23 and broadcast on CBS. The Grammy ceremony itself returns to New York from Los Angeles this year for the first time since 1998. Bruce Springsteen's album "The Rising'' has been nominated for album of the year.
