(NYT9) NEW YORK -- Nov. 2, 2002 -- NY-BISHOP -- Two disturbing depositions were released concerning Bishop Thomas V. Daily's handling of sexual abuse cases while he was the second-ranking church official in Boston, and the Brooklyn Diocese was hit with a major sexual abuse lawsuit concerning his and his predecessors' administrations. It does not augur a peaceful final chapter to Bishop Daily's12 years at the helm of the nation's fifth-largest diocese, which includes Brooklyn and Queens. Bishop Daily, in his residence, speaking of sex abuse turmoil. (Michelle V. Agins/The New York Times)
