(NYT9) NEW YORK -- Feb. 9, 2001 -- NY-AIRPORTS -- In New York, a two-airport town, Kennedy International Airport has been New York City's wide springboard to the world, while La Guardia Airport has been the dowdy but nearby destination for domestic and business traffic. David Neeleman, the CEO of JetBlue Airways, a start-up airline that will be a year old, used Kennedy airport for the new domestic airline he was founding. Jetblue made a profit after six months.
