In the picture Canaan Khoury, the son of Mr. Nadim now in charge of the winery, he has also got a master brewer certificate at the University of California. In Taybeh, a remote village in the heart of Palestine, a family has started a peculiar business for these latitudes. Here, in 1994, the Khoury family established the first micro brewery of the entire Middle East. After the Oslo Peace Agreement (1993) the family, who had spent more than 20 years in the United States, decided to come back to their hometown and invest in it. Their goal was to improve the local economy turning Mr. Nadim Khoury's passion into business. Today the Taybeh Beer is a big reality. They produce, all year long, both ales and lagers in a variety of seven different beers: Golden, Dark, Amber, Light, 0% Alcohol, White and IPA. Moreover, they have special brews like the Winter Ale, Arabic Coffee Stout, Cherry Goze and Watermelon Sour. Madees, Mr. Nadim's daughter, is taking over the family business while his brother, Canaan is a Master Brewer who got his Degree from Davis University in California and then decided to go back to his hometown to put his knowledge into the family business. However, Mr. Nadim is still running the company and, as his son Canaan says "he is like a spring", always running back and forth to make sure that every step of the brewing process respect the highest standards. "My name is written on those bottles and I must make sure that everything is perfect", that is Mr. Nadim attitude towards his passion, making the finest beer of Middle East.?
