Safari Doctors has partnered with Bomu hospital in Mombasa to build a level 4 hospital in Hindi to handle referrals across Lamu County, as well as support the neighboring counties of Tana River and Garissa.
Each month for a week a medical team called the Safari Doctors set sail through the Lamu archipelago to provide care to the most isolated and vulnerable populations. In their mission, the Safari Doctors are confronted with neglected diseases but also with the permanent threat of an armed group plaguing the region.
