Mardjan Dana Abidian, a cultural mediator who speaks Farsi, and works along side a psychologist, spends time with 8 year old Matine from Afghanistan Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at their field facility just outside the Moria refugee camp run by the Greek Ministry of Migration on the island of Lesbos. Matine, who has shown signs from trauma in his behavior, receives therapy as he is supported by his father and uncle who were concerned with his mental well being and brought him to the clinic. Matine, an only child, wants to become a policeman someday. Concerns have been raise by those observing conditions at the camp, including MSF clinical psychiatrist Dr Alessandro Barberio. He states: "Moria camp, in Lesbos, has a maximum capacity of 3,100 people, but is bursting at the seams, with just over 6,000 (revised Feb, 2019) people. A third of them are children, living in appalling conditions, which are contributing to a considerable deterioration of their physical and mental health. I have never witnessed such overwhelming numbers of people suffering from serious mental health conditions, as I am witnessing now amongst refugees on the island of Lesbos. "
