DAME JUDI DENCH RECEIVES AN HONORARY DEGREE FROM LEEDS UNIVERSITY, BRITAIN - 17 JUL 2002 --DAME JUDI HONOURED-- One of Britain's best loved actresses Dame Judi Dench was awarded with an honorary degree by the University of Leeds at a special ceremony at the Yorkshire college, today (17 July). In the return to her Yorkshire roots, the 67-year-old five-times BAFTA winner was dressed in her honorary finery throughout the ceremony before stepping outside where she was met by a pack of photographers. Honoured in the past as Best Actress in a Comedy Series for A Fine Romance in 1981, Best Supporting Actress in 1988's A Handful of Dust and A Room with a View in 1986, Dame Judi's honorary Doctor of Letters, for her lifelong dedication to the arts, adds to her accolades.
