RIDING ON THE LYNX. A mother lynx looks like she is riding on the back of its kit after having had her patience tested by the youngster. The three month old forest cat was pictured winding up its mother at the Skansen Wildlife Park in Stockholm, Sweden before she snapped. Photographer Mats Rennstam said, "The kit annoyed and squared up to its patient mum for about 20 minutes until the mum had had enough and jumped on top of it. The Eurasian lynx, the largest of the lynx family, was close to extinction in Scandinavia but has slowly recovered since the 1950s and it is estimated that there are now 1,500 in the wild in Sweden alone. The Skansen lynx kit, which was born back in May is yet to be named.” "Skansen is a member of IUCN, EAZA and WAZA – organizations that all work with conservation projects and collaborations to promote biological diversity."
