Iraq, Kurdistan, Bakhdida, 16 November 2016 Qaraqosh, Al-Hamdanya or Bakhdida, three names for the city of ghost. Qaraqosh is an Assyrian city in northern Iraq within the Nineveh Governorate. It is located about 32?km (20?min) southeast of the city of Mosul and 60?km west of Erbil. Amid agricultural lands, it is close to the ruins of the ancient Assyrian cities Nimrud and Nineveh. It is connected to the main city of Mosul by two main roads. Qaraqosh was ravaged by ISIS, who seized it in June 2014 as they rampaged across parts of northern Iraq. Au milieu de champs agricoles, elle est prcs des ruines des anciennes cites assyriennes Nimrud et Ninive. Elle est connectee r la ville de Mossoul par deux routes principales.
