His Royal Highness flew into Mayo for an appointment at J.V. Clark School, where he was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of flag-waving young supporters. Wearing a long, tweed coat and a suit while most were dressed in Gore-Tex and jeans, the paternal Prince was accompanied by older pupils on a walk in the surrounding countryside during which he stopped to talk to three sisters - aged four, seven and eight - who had built a snowman out of the morning's snowfall. The young girls made it a fitting creation for the event by placing a crown made from the gold foil of chocolate bar wrappers, a move that drew a laugh from the next in line to the throne. However, most of the prince's giggles were reserved for the colourfully-dressed Klondike dancing girls, who made for a more grown-up spectacle after the school visit. The Prince of Wales flies back to London today.
